Famous beaches in Puglia

Puglia has the longest coastline in Italy.  The areas of Gargano and Salento boast the most famous; and for the most part,  the most beautiful beaches in Italy.  The list below is a partial list of what Puglia has to offer.

• Baia dei Turdis near Otranto (Salento)

• Baia delle Zagare in Gargano promontory

• Baia Vignanotica in Gargano
  Pescoluse-Torre Pali Beach named as the “Maldives of Salento” in Salve, Lecce

• Polignano a Mare near Monopoli

• Porto Cesareo in Salento

• Tremiti Islands off the Puglia coast and near the Gargano promontory

• Torre dell’Orso is popular with cliff divers.  It is located southeast of Lecce (near Ancona)and is famous for its crescent-shaped sand beach and the “two sisters” rock formation.

• Torre Guaceto Beach is a coastal and marine nature reserve with a 16th century defense tower in Carovigno.
